Novus Wardrobe Watch
An LED watch to match any outfit
The Novus Wardrobe Watch was an attempt to make LED watches appealing to women. The Wardrobe Watch featured the novel concept of allowing you to switch your watch module between several differently colored interchangeable shells so you could change the external color of your watch to match your outfit.
Novus was a brand of National Semiconductor Corporation. In the 1970s, many semiconductor companies entered the watch making field and as a result quite a number of ugly, unfashionable LED watches made their way to market. Given this history, it's rather surprising that this Wardrobe Watch was not only fashion oriented but also featured an attractive and novel design.
The Wardrobe Watch uses a nice quality module with an attractive dot type LED display. The shells are made of plastic and the bands are made of a synthetic material - very space age styling and materials at the time. This watch was intended for the modern woman.
This watch is part of a complete set with brown, blue, and white shells, a padded foam box / carrying case, and the original instructions and warranty card. It's remarkable to find this watch in minty condition, but also with its complete set of original accessories. Quite rare and unique!
This Novus Wardrobe Watch is in excellent condition. All three watch shells and bands in the set are in perfect condition and the module has only a few very light marks on the module back. Minty!
